Pope Francis, Angelus, July 25,
2021.
This Sunday's Gospel of the
Liturgy narrates the famous episode of the loaves and fishes, with which Jesus
feeds about five thousand people who came to listen to him (cf. Jn 6 : 1-15)….
It is curious that in the
stories of the multiplication of the loaves present in the Gospels the verb
"to multiply" never appears. Indeed, the verbs used are of the
opposite sign: "to break", "to give", "to
distribute" (cf. v. 11; Mt 14:19; Mk 6:41; Lk9.16). But the verb "to
multiply" is not used. The true miracle, Jesus says, is not multiplication
that produces pride and power, but division, sharing, which increases love and
allows God to work wonders. Let's try to share more, let's try this path that
Jesus teaches us….
Have a good lunch and goodbye. https://www.vatican.va/content/francesco/it/angelus/2021/documents/papa-francesco_angelus_20210725.html
